Goodness was it really a year ago I wrote my last blog when I reviewed 2015!!! Well yes it was! My good intentions to blog more regularly really did fall by the wayside - hopefully though when you see all that I got up to last year you'll understand!
And what another fabulous year it was - catching up with some of lovely regular clients, meeting lots of great new ones and, as always, a fabulous range of subjects to photograph - thank you everyone for making 2016 my best year yet!
So what did I get up to???
First up there was Teena (plus 16 of her colleagues from Crossover!) who, along with the more conventional portraits, wanted some fun ones too! No guessing what Teena's favourite thing to eat is! Then there was Rosie being a beautiful model outside The Golden Ball in Lower Swell. And then Hetty - braving the cold on the coldest day of the year!!!
Then my first entry into the Top 10 of the year - as soon as I shot this of Connie on the steps at Dumbleton Hall I knew she'd be on the list!!!
A lovely couple's shoot followed celebrating a very special birthday - you'll just have to imagine them hiding behind the foliage! Then the first of two sessions for Rhiannon, quickly followed by the return of my very first client all those years ago - Sophie with her amazing M'Hencha - another one for the Top 10!!
Then there was a trio of gorgeous ladies ! - Theda, Lynne and Alice.
Off to Bristol next to get some shots of Alex and the McArthur-Davies team - "is it 1, 2, 3, jump? or jumping on 3??"!!!. Then another lovely lady, Rachael, the first of a few sessions with Pulhams Coaches in Bourton on the Water and Rhiannon showing her prowess on the tee at Broadway Golf Club!
Then I saw Robin Furlong again at the opening of his collaborative exhibition with the artist Colin Fraser, followed by dropping into Waterloo Dry Cleaners in Cirencester for a spot of ironing! Then back to Bristol to get Clare in action during one of her training programmes.
The lovely Ros was next, quickly followed by one of the fabulous peacocks at the stunning new wedding venue in the Cotswolds, The Barn at Upcote. Another session at Pulhams - I've never seen such a big "car" wash in my life! and then a family shoot at Pittville Pump Rooms in Cheltenham recreating a shot from many years ago - so a few additions to the line up!
Back to Pulhams - and the Pulhams themselves! Followed by the gorgeous Jo - a lady who loves to keep her portrait up to date - this was our 4th session over recent years!
A couple of horses then followed, Furry Fox at the grand old age of 28 with his field companion, Spice. And Ginger with Debbie.
Another trio of lovely ladies and another Top 10 with Philippa, followed by going back to Bensons to get some portraits of their new team members including Carly and then Caroline.
And I do do portraits of men too! Here's Steve, one of the tennis coaches at East Glos Club in Cheltenham and John! Then how could I not resist adding this smile from Maria to the Top 10!!
Next was a very close contender for the Top 10, the amazing bread from Natural Bread in Oxford and on day two we headed into the bakery itself! Back then to The Lamb Inn in my village to get some updated shots of their latest refurbishments - I was very tempted by that bed!
Back to The Barn at Upcote to photograph the final stages of the building work - someone was not paying attention to the signage! Then the gorgeous Aude and a great day at The Cotswold School in Bourton to update the first set of images we took over 4 years ago.
Yes I know I "don't" photograph weddings! However I was back at The Barn at Upcote photographing images of their first wedding for them (not the bride and groom!) - and loved how this worked - so another one for my Top 10!
Back to East Glos club photographing their food, another room at The Lamb Inn and then a rather inquisitive cow from the Holmleigh Dairy herd making her way into the Top 10 too!
A very happy client at Elite Health and Fitness in Cirencester, a lovely family and back to Crossover to get some of Phil.
There's been some new additions at Cacklebean this year so was then back there - on the hottest day ever!!! - making sure of course we included the youngest staff member! Another one of my oldest and loveliest clients Catherine was next up with the new packaging for her Balmology range. Then food, not rooms! at The Lamb Inn!
The gorgeous Rin was next followed quickly by Sandra, Tim and another Crossover fun portrait with Matt!
A very sleepy Buster during a team meeting was next! Then results day at Cotswold School and here's hoping he passed with Karl from Brookes School of Motoring!
A full two days were up next at Cheltenham College with two shots that were so so nearly in the Top 10 (I really could have done with a Top 15 this year!!!).
Then more lovely ladies - Catharine, Philippa and Jenny on her first day of the job at Cedar Therapy. And another gorgeous spa, Spa at Lapstone.
And I know! Another wedding! And another entry into the Top 10!!!
Some fabulous curtains from Vicky followed, then a two day return visit to The Kings School, Gloucester with another entry into the Top 10 with their newly refurbished art rooms.
Then there was Alex from Hayes Parsons in Bristol - one of the first of 26 portraits we shot in their offices. Then the gorgeous, and fabulous chef, Kate.
Back then to The Barn at Upcote and, as I was despairing about the increasingly dark skies, I turned around and was greeted with this - perfectly postioned over the barn. Definitely another Top 10!
Back to Cheltenham College for another couple of sessions and then yum scrum! - mince pies from Natural Bread - another Top 10 for sure!
Back to Hayes Parsons for the final set of portraits, including the lovely Helen, a family portrait shoot with Amelie very keen to show off her walking! First birthday celebrations at Spa at Lapstone and some very studious studying taking place at Cheltenham College.
Then to finish the year, three short sessions back at Cheltenham College with the handsome boys from the 1st VI to finish it all off!
What a year! I loved it! Thank you!
