Part of the great in Great Rissington!

I may be somewhat biased given it is my village pub, however The Lamb Inn is a rather great one!

I've always know about the delicious food, lovely gardens, great beer (and wine!) and the warm welcome you always receive, however until I started working with Paul, the owner for the last 13 years here, I had no idea about the 13 amazing bedrooms they have too!

Paul was needing new images to go with his new website and we agreed a wide range of images would really showcase all that the pub has to offer. So I had a great time getting to know more about the behind the scenes and bits of the pub you wouldn't normally see!

The rooms really are beautifully decorated and Justine, the head housekeeper, takes enormous care and has meticulous attention to detail in her work - though unfortunately she was a little camera shy!

Spending time in the kitchen with James and his team was such fun too. SInce he arrived last year, the menu has been transformed - there's still your traditional pub food but it's extra special pub food with some fabulous additions. And oh so very tasty too!

My only regret is that I just live a few minutes walk away - makes staying the night rather hard to justify! At least I can still eat and drink there though!

So here's a few images from the shoot to perhaps tempt you to visit too!

Pizza at the Priory Inn!

Tetbury has always held a special place in my heart as it's where I got married! So when The Priory Inn got in touch last year, I was delighted to pay another visit down there and see if I could help with the images they were looking for.

The initial focus was on their fabulous tasting paddle - 6 quarter pints from The Cotswold Brewing Company giving people the chance to try the great variety of beer on offer and to then pick their favourite! Then of course there's their fabulous wood burning pizza oven and delicious menu - all sourced within a 30 mile food zone. It certainly was a fast paced (and hot!) evening but the service and atmosphere were brilliant.

And then I was invited back again this summer to add a few more shots to the collection - of the new signs outside and of the rooms and restaurant area making sure some of the important details and finishing touches that they offer were also captured. The owners, Tanya and Dave, and all their staff really do go the extra mile there to make sure all guests - whether they're there for an overnight stay, a meal or just a drink - are made to feel very welcome.

As always, lots of images to choose from so just a wee small selection of my favourites!

Hartpury Heaven

I met Michelle early on this summer who, alongside her husband, had taken over The Royal Exchange in Hartpury, a village local to them, the previous August. The pub was in a bit of a sorry state and had next to no custom, but after an incredibly short time to completely refurbish it - they weren't even shut for two months! - the transformation was complete and they are now proud owners of a thriving freehouse pub which is busy every night of the week!

Stocking real ale, cider, perry and a wide range of wines they also serve locally sourced, home-cooked and seasonal food prepared by Matt - who coincidentally started his career as a pot washer in the pub in the 90's! Oak beams, a roaring double sided log burner, pine and flag floors, herbs on the tables and great gardens then all make the food and drink experience at The Royal Exchange even more pleasurable!

When Michelle got in touch they were looking for images to enhance the new website they had planned. Images that really showed what they were all about - in essence a really friendly, welcoming pub with great food and drink!

So over three different sessions we set about capturing all aspects of this vibrant pub - from their (very!) local beef supplier Roger, to the lambs from their own farm, the food being prepared, the final (and quite delicious!) dishes, the interiors, the gardens - in fact all the way through to seeing the moon at night above their heated, covered deck!

Lots of fun was had along the way and we ended up with a fantastic bank of images to choose from. A few of my favourites are below but do head on over to their great new website from Alex at Amp Web Design to see a few more - and of course to plan your visit!
